Sheridan Carroll Food Pantry is part of the Sheridan Carroll Charitable Works Group. Sheridan Carroll Charitable Works Group helps people of need all around the globe, but our focus is on Chicago. Here are some of the ways we help the community:
Every month, over 200 families around Chicagoland rely on Sheridan Carroll Food Pantry to provide them with food. Our service area spans from Austin to 1st Avenue and from Lake Street to Irving Park Road.
Three times a year, Sheridan Carroll puts together 85 baskets of food including a turkey or a ham, fruit, vegetables, potatoes, pasta, bread, pies, etc. – over a weeks worth of food. 65 of these get delivered to different families around Chicagoland, while the other 20 are used to put on a feast at Our Lady of the Lake Soup Kitchen.
Each year, Sheridan Carroll Charitable Works partners with the local Knights of Colombus Council to raise money for Engers School for the Mentally Handicapped. Over the years, we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Engers School and other organizations that benefit the Mentally Handicapped.
During the months of August and September, Sheridan Carroll collects donations of pens, pencils, paper, notebooks, etc. to give to children who cannot afford their own school supplies.
As the weather turns, Sheridan Carroll collects gloves, hats, and even coats to provide to children for the winter.
